The floats can easily be lit by simply unscrewing the top and inserting the batteries. Two long lasting, BR425 batteries are included with each float ensuring extended usage for those all-night fishing adventures. With one battery activated the float light will last approximately five hours with a viewing distance of 90 yards and with both batteries activated it will last approximately eight hours with a viewing distance of 100 yards.
